BasicGrey Gallery

Remember this layout? I just got word that it has been accepted into the BasicGrey gallery! Yipppeee!

I have been tagged again! This time by Tabitha and l8ybug2. It's getting hard to come up with more things about me, so I have to get creative.....

Here are my 7 Random Things about ME:

1. I grew up in the unicorporated town of Leeds, in the middle of a cornfield.
2. I received a masters' degree in Project Management when Payton was only 3 months old. A few months later I quit my job!!
3. I hate to read. If I do read, it is nonfiction...something that I can learn from. I didn't want Payton to hate reading, so that's why I read to her for 1 hour every day. Needless to say, she loves books!
4. I believe the strangest thing I've ever eaten was ostrich. I had it both times I went to Germany and it was about the only thing I ate when I was there.
5. I am responsible for bringing in the very first selective soldering machine to the United States. I'm sure none of you care, but it was a very big deal in the electronics industry!!
6. My favorite color is pink.
7. I love comedy movies. Especially ones with Ben Stiller. My favorite movie is Office Space.

Here's the people that I'm tagging:

Big Kid Table LO

These photos are from last Easter, where Payton go to sit at the big kid table with all her cousins for the first time. She didn't eat a thing, but she was pretty proud of herself. I did the title using 10 different fonts. This is the first time I've done this, and I like how it turned out. It's also a good way to get rid of misc. letters in your stash!

Foam Fun LO and Scottish Swans LO

Here are two more layouts made with the Spring Fling kit from Coconut ScrapShop!! I love how many projects I am getting from just one kit!! I still have enough left to squeak out a card or two!!

I made this "Foam Fun" layout by using up my scraps. I cut them into 2"x2" pieces and scattered them about the page. I went to Edinburgh, Scotland on a business trip a few years ago when I was pregnant with Payton. We saw these swans at the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. I used my wings stamps for an added touch on the title block.
Make sure you visit Tabitha's blog for a fun "Lucky" Coconutty challenge with a prize!!! Here's a hint of the fabulous prize....Rusty Pickle!!!!

Strike a Pose LO

Here is my second layout made with my Spring Fling kit from Coconut ScrapShop!!!! I weaved some fiber in the photo and also tied some around the circle. Underneath the circle are the tiny rub-ons that are included in the kit. I also used my wing stamps that I got from the kit as brackets for my subtitle.

The photo is taken in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Payton knows that whenever I get out the camera, it's time to pose! She's such a ham!

Make sure you check out Grace's blog for some blog candy!! She is giving away two $10 gift certificates to the Coconut ScrapShop!!! Hurry - she draws for the prizes today!!

Coconut ScrapShop March kit is here!!! Coconut Queen LO

My March kit ("Spring Fling") from the Coconut ScrapShop arrived today and I had to play with it right away!!! It's a wonderful collection of BasicGrey Two Scoops paper and matching fibers, Doodlebug sugar coated rub-ons and cardstock sticker letters, Karen Foster brads, as well as clear stamps from Hot Off the Press!!! Click here to view the whole kit.

What's even more wonderful is that first time buyers can get this kit for only $15 with the code "firsttimebuy1" at checkout!!!! Oh, and make sure you let Jen know that Cheryl sent you!! :)

So here's my first layout made with the kit, titled "Coconut Queen." (Thought that would be an appropriate title for my first Coconut ScrapShop layout!!) The rub-ons are the easiest I've ever used...they come off with ease and they are so sparkly!! I even used some of the rub-ons to create my own journalling box. I used some of the Cat's Eye ink that came with the kit to ink the edges of the paper, as well as stamp a crown (that came with my kit) directly on the photograph on Payton's head. Click on the photo to see more detail. I can't wait to get to the other layouts that I have planned with this kit!!
