"Magic" slide card

I made this 'magic' slide card using three sets from The Stamping Studio. The top set is stamped on a transparency and the bottom set on cardstock. So when they come together, the top and bottom overlap.

Have you ever had a product line that is sooooo incredibly wonderful that you just wanted to save it so you wouldn't run out of it or heaven forbid, screw it up?? That's the way I feel with all the collections from Collage Press!! All of their products are just so inspiring. I made this layout using their Margot line for their Father's Day challenge. I used an entire bottle of glitter on the circle!!

Make online purchases?? Check out Ebates for Cash Back!!

I wanted to share this great program that I found and have been using for a while....

If you make online purchases, check out Ebates, as they are FREE to join and they give you CASH BACK for your purchases. It has a ton of online stores (Victorias Secret, Ebay, JCPenney, etc.) that they affiliate with that will give you cash back. After you sign up, all you have to do is click on the online store in the drop down menu and ebates will direct you to the store. You make your purchase and in a few days, you will see your cash back posted, which can be mailed to you in a check or posted to a Paypal acct. Plus you get a $5 bonus after making your first purchase. Here's a deal going on now that I thought you might be interested in:

::Sign up for a new account with ebates
::Select JCPenney from the drop-down list of stores
::Find something on the JCPenney's website which is a little over $10 and add it to your cart.
::Checkout with promo code GR8DAD to get $10 off your order. (expires June 21)
::Checkout paying only for shipping and taxes (this will be around $5).
::Receive your $5 bonus as a new sign-up with ebates and also receive 4% cash back for your order with ebates

Click here to sign up: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=bvAKGfnTuERF7N/p6T/hQQ%3D%3D

Whenever you are getting ready to place an order online, go to Ebates first and search for the website you're ordering from. More often than not, it will be listed. Just click on the link to the website and place your order.

Within a few days of placing your order, you'll be credited with cash back for a percentage of your purchase. The cash back amount is normally around 4% and while it might seem like a very miniscule amount, for me it is definitely worth a few dollars to go to the trouble of clicking through Ebates to place an order. I've been amazed at how these little amounts add up over time.

Right now, they are offering a great referral program: you can get $10 per sign-up if you refer three new people to Ebates!!

Published in Caribbean Travel + Life

At the end of May, we went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a vacation. One of the best surprises during vacation was opening up the June/July issue of Caribbean Travel + Life and seeing my photo and write-up publilshed!!!! It was so exciting! I received this issue in the mail the day before we left, so I just threw it in my suitcase. It floated around in there for a few days until mid-vacation, when I finally decided to read it. I had sent this article in after our Cozumel vacation in January and never heard back from them. What a nice surprise!

Twenty Five Apples on my Little Apple Tree

On this layout I wanted to do one of the new trends....an extra long title. I cut it with my Cricut using a free font I found on the internet along with my SCAL software. I also used masking on this layout. I had a piece of cardboard with lots of little circles cut out of it, so I laid it on the background paper and sprayed some glimmer mist over it to achieve the circle effect. All the papers and overlay are My Little Shoebox.

Home Sweet Home

I finally got my hands on some My Little Shoebox papers, die cuts and overalays! I love this line of papers but I don't have any photos of our current house. So these photos are of the house that we used to own when I was still working. When I quit my job, we had to get a much smaller and less impressive house! I absolutely loved the metropolitan architecture of this house - it was so calming and homey.
